The President of Uzbekistan noted the importance of increasing trade, economic and investment cooperation with the European Union

On March 18, the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev received the delegation of the European Union headed by the European Commissioner for International Partnerships Jozef Sikela, who is in our country on a working visit.
They discussed current issues of further development of Uzbek-European multifaceted relations.
At the beginning of the conversation, the high representative of the EU conveyed greetings and best wishes to the head of our state on behalf of the President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen and the President of the European Council Antonio Costa.
The growing dynamics of the development of bilateral cooperation in recent years, in particular in the political, trade and economic, investment and cultural and humanitarian spheres, was noted with deep satisfaction.
The presence of great opportunities and potential for its consistent expansion was emphasized.
The early signing of a new Agreement on Enhanced Partnership and Cooperation between Uzbekistan and the EU will also serve this.
Mutual interest was expressed in promoting joint projects and programs in the fields of transport and logistics, energy, digitalization, agriculture and water management, and other priority areas.
Particular attention was paid to establishing mutually beneficial practical cooperation in the processing of critical mineral resources.
The meeting discussed aspects of organizing and holding the first Central Asia-EU summit and the Climate Forum in early April this year in Samarkand.
An exchange of views on regional cooperation in Central Asia also took place.
