President of Uzbekistan arrives in Malaysia

At the invitation of the Prime Minister of Malaysia Anwar Ibrahim, the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev arrived in this country on an official visit on the evening of February 4.
At the international airport of the city of Kuala Lumpur, the head of our state was met by the Speaker of the House of Representatives of the Parliament of Malaysia Johari bin Abdul, the Minister of Education Zambri Abdul Kadir and other officials.
In honor of the arrival of the leader of Uzbekistan, a guard of honor was lined up, the national flags of the two countries were raised.
The President of our country held a meeting with the Speaker of the Parliament of Malaysia at the airport. An exchange of views took place on the agenda of the upcoming high-level meetings.
Particular attention was paid to further active cooperation and exchanges along parliamentary lines, organizing mutual visits and events of existing friendship groups, establishing practical interaction in matters of legislative activity, promoting the implementation of important investment, infrastructure, social and cultural-humanitarian programs.
The main events of the visit program will take place tomorrow, February 5.
The President of Uzbekistan and the Prime Minister of Malaysia will hold high-level talks and take part in the Uzbek-Malaysian business forum. The summit is expected to result in the signing of a number of intergovernmental and interdepartmental documents.
