The Presidents of Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan emphasized the importance of expanding strategic partnership

On April 3, President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev met with President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov, who arrived in Samarkand to participate in the first Central Asia-EU summit.
The President of Turkmenistan conveyed sincere greetings to the head of our state from the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslakhaty Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov.
The issues of further development and strengthening of Uzbek-Turkmen relations of friendship, good-neighborliness and strategic partnership were discussed.
The steady growth of trade turnover indicators, which exceeded 1.1 billion dollars last year, was noted with deep satisfaction.
Cooperation projects in the fields of industry, energy, transport, agriculture and water management are being successfully implemented. The Shavat-Dashoguz border trade zone is being jointly created. Events are being held within the framework of active interregional contacts and cultural and humanitarian exchange.
Particular attention is paid to the preparation of upcoming bilateral meetings and multilateral events at the highest level, as well as the promotion of joint projects of multifaceted partnership.
